Some of our team members have been personally affected, with loss of homes and ongoing power and water outages.
We’re grateful to share that Poko Loko Floating Bar and all Huqqa Jamaica partner locations are safe and recovery efforts are underway.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, we want to take a moment to thank everyone for the hundreds of messages, calls, and words of concern we’ve received from guests, partners, and friends around the world.
Your kindness and solidarity mean the world to us and to our island family.
What Happened
This historic storm brought catastrophic winds and flooding across several parishes, including St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland, and St. James, leaving many communities without power and running water.
While all Huqqa Jamaica team members are safe, several of our staff have been personally affected, losing homes and essential belongings, and are still without light and water as recovery efforts continue. Our leadership team is working closely with them to provide assistance and support during this difficult time.
We are relieved to confirm that our key operating locations, including Poko Loko Floating Bar, remain safe and structurally sound. Other partner resorts have also begun restoration efforts, and we are actively coordinating with hotel management to resume normal operations as quickly and safely as possible.
At Huqqa Jamaica, our commitment remains unwavering, to our people, our partners, and our guests. We will continue to serve with warmth, excellence, and resilience as we work together to rebuild.
